Dorothy Stephenson is the owner and founder of
The Sundance Studio. She grew up on her parent's
cattle farm in Highland County, Virginia where she
learned the value of endurance, determination, and hard
work. She began her clogging career when she was 6
years old, enrolling in the Little Switzerland Cloggers.
She now leads the group as the instructor, director and
choreographer. She also founded her own competitive
clogging group, The Sundance Express, in 2006. She
has traveled up and down the east coast to many
performances and clogging competitions earning
honors at every competition including the title of Amatuer
Grand Champion Female Soloist at Dieter's Clogging
Beach Jam in 2007. Dorothy held her first competition
this past September, the first annual Sundance
Showdown, in her hometown of Monterey, Virginia. She
is also the founder of VirginiaClog.com. She enjoys
entertaining and performing and does so regularly at
local prestigous resorts, The Homestead and The
Greenbrier Resort. Above all, she says her biggest
accomplishment is her students. "I feel blessed to be
able to be a part of all of my students lives. Each and
every young person is a treasure and should always be
treated as such." Dorothy lives in Monterey with her
husband, Robby.
