A couple weeks ago, our beloved Gussie Young was in a very serious snowboarding accident on Mt. Breckenridge in
Colorado. While snowboarding there, Gussie made a jump and when she landed she lost control and hit a tree face
first. She was taken to St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver.

Gussie Young, Sundance Express member, was involved in a serious snowboarding accident. She was snowboarding in Colorado,
where she attends college, and hit a tree. She was wearing a helmet. Had she not been wearing a helmet she would've been killed. She
was airlifted to Denver and is currently in the Trauma Unit.

The accident happened while Gussie was snowboarding at Mt. Breckenridge in Colorado. She was on a path with a jump. She made the
jump but lost control on her landing and her face hit a tree. Since Gussie was admitted to the hospital she has had several friends by her
side most of the time she has been there.

Gussie underwent plastic surgery yesterday to repair the broken bones in her face. It was a very long surgery. The doctors were very happy
with the surgery and repaired everything that they needed to. Gussie has splints in her nose and several pins and screws. Her release
date is not yet known. Last night, was a very hard night. Gussie and her mother, Debbie, did not get very much sleep, if any. Gussie is very
bruised and sore. All we can do is wait for more information. Debbie said that Gussie is able to eat and is eating well. There is talk about a
second surgery but we do not know anything concrete. That is all the information I have at this time. It's just a waiting game now.

Gussie seems to be doing good. I haven't gotten a whole lot of information here lately. She's just trying to recover. There was a leakage
from her nose and spine that the doctor's were concerned about but that leakage has stopped so everything should be ok.

I just got a call from Gussie. She told me that she was getting along very well and was not in any pain at all. She sometimes has bad
headaches but has medicine to ease the pain. She, of course, has to take it easy and can not clog or be too active at the moment but she
is back in school and doing well. Thanks to everyone for all the prayers and support!!!!
From Dorothy Stephenson

Thank you all so much for your support and prayer for Gussie, her family and our team,
Sundance Express. Gussie's situation is pure miracle. I just ask that you all take the time
every day to tell those people you love how much they mean to you. I would've never dreamed
that this would have happened to one of my students or, more importantly, one of my friends.
Thank God this did not end in tragedy. Gussie is very lucky. She sends her thanks out to you
all for praying for her and for all the emails that we have received.
